Greetings!
My adventures in serving others began as a camp counselor nearly four decades ago. I’ve found that integrating spiritual faith and emotional components alongside my training in neuropsychology allows me to understand the delicate mind-body balance and better serve the whole person. I’m energized by helping others find that balance and embrace the adventure of a fully invested life.
Marriage and ministry with my wife have helped further develop my counseling skills, allowing me to offer marital intensives to help others bring healing and new vitality to their marriages. Raising our four wonderful children has also provided invaluable relational growth throughout my life.
My interests include construction, hunting, fishing, politics, and theology. These have also been incredibly helpful in my growth to serve others well.
I look forward to joining you on your journey to healing!

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself and my clinical practice to you!
I have been in private practice, serving Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities, as well as Northwest Ohio, since 1996. In addition to the Fort Wayne location, I also have a satellite office in Paulding, Ohio.
I provide counseling and psychological services for individuals ranging from the pre-teen years through the geriatric years. In addition to the traditional in-office individual, marital, and family therapy, I also provide consultation for organizations and groups as well as speaking engagements or workshops on my “areas of focus” that are identified on the sidebar.
Also, I am currently writing a book entitled “Grace-Full Relationships,” which addresses the topic of relational and emotional healing in the context of relational hurts and offenses.
On a personal note, I have been married to Lisa since 1988, and we have four adult children and grandchildren. I am intentional and passionate about applying in my own home life the principles I teach to clients. I am honored and privileged to serve in this clinical practice and ministry alongside my wife, Lisa, who is also a counselor at Cornerstone Counseling.

Hello there!
I consider it a tremendous privilege to be given the opportunity to work with people through counseling. My goal is to provide a safe and judgment-free space to come alongside my clients in overcoming the hurdles that stress, relationship problems, and mental illness can cause in life. I also have a passion for faith-based Christian counseling if this is something you’re interested in.
A little bit about me: I am married to my husband, Simon, and we have the joy of raising two amazing daughters. When I have free time, I like going on walks, knitting, gardening, baking, and spending time with my family.

Hello!
Thank you for the opportunity to get better acquainted with you.
Some of the approaches to counseling I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Family Systems, Groups, and Client-Centered Therapies, along with providing Marital and Pre-Marital Counseling. If you have spiritual values, I am more than happy to incorporate them into part of our work together.
While my interests include things like spending time with my wife and family, exploring theology, traveling, current events, and reading, nothing gets me more excited than Star Wars. I am an avid fan/supporter of the original and prequel trilogies and am always up for a good galaxy-themed chat!

Can I tell you what energizes me? Helping people understand what is causing pain or discomfort and then helping them navigate the best methods to either eliminate, diminish, or cope with their symptoms.
The human body is designed to heal itself mentally and emotionally, just as it does when a wound physically regrows tissue and heals. Sometimes, wounds are minor and do not affect our day-to-day lives. At other times, a cast or surgery is necessary for healing. In the same way, interventions are sometimes necessary to heal emotional and mental wounds.
To tell you a little about myself, I was previously a teacher for 30 years, and that has been a key resource for me in working with children and teens and their schools and families. I hope to be a partner you can rely on moving forward!

My heartfelt desire is to assist people in feeling heard and understood as they process their concerns. My goal is to offer genuine compassion in my relationships with my clients as I assist others in developing greater understanding of how thinking affects both feelings and behavior. In working though this process, the origins of emotions can be both better understood and managed. As a committed Christian, I desire to assist those (who request it) with a Christian worldview to better think and act Biblically.
Licensed both as a Mental Health Counselor, and a Clinical Addictions Counselor, I have also worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting for 12 years. I have worked in private practice since 1999. With more than 30 years of experience in the mental health field, holding a Master of Arts in Education, I had a special focus in agency counseling from Indiana University.
I enjoy working with families, couples, and individuals who are going through relationship concerns, depression, anxiety, alcohol and other drug problems, various types of addictions, and other mental health issues.
My name is Janice King, and I am excited to be part of the team at Cornerstone Vision Counseling after being in private practice for many years. My husband Stephen and I have three grown daughters, two son in laws, and three grandchildren. Our family is very important to us, and we value spending time together when we can.
To let you know a bit more about me: I love to cook and entertain. I enjoy God’s creation, and I am passionate about traveling-especially to experience other cultures. Even though it is sometimes difficult, I experience great satisfaction from implementing healthy life style choices. I was raised in an Evangelical Mennonite faith tradition, but step by step I have made my way to the Catholic church where we are celebrating experiencing God in a new way through the Eucharist (communion service).
Professionally, I have been encouraged by discovering and implementing more strategies to help people resolve childhood and adult traumas. I have been trained in “The Cortina Method” which is a brain-based healing methodology established through the neurosciences. The Cortina Method uses a protocol that relieves individuals from reexperiencing distressing emotions, like associated with PTSD. Sometimes ‘single type’ – a less complex - PTSD can be resolved in a two hour visit.

It is such an honor to be able to help others through the tough seasons of life, and I do not take that role lightly. I believe one of the main reasons we humans have mental health struggles is due to the unknown: unknown fears, beliefs, and wounds. Just as a medical professional looks to heal the root cause of different symptoms, I will work with you to bring your unknown roots to your awareness. We will work together to create change in your life where you need it and how you need it while utilizing holistic health practices.
I am able to incorporate Biblical principles within the therapeutic process for those interested in a Christian perspective.
In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing sports, playing music, and spending time outdoors with my husband and two corgis.
